Spring Forward

So, I put some new paint on the cupboard walls. I hope you like it. The slow arrival of spring had me itching for new colors and a slightly new look. It's pouring {really pouring!} rain right now, and I'm loving every minute of it. I can hear it tickling the drain spouts, especially in my bedroom.

Speaking of bedrooms and redecorating, I did a little of that a few weeks ago and haven't yet shown you. I bought fabric and twine bunting from the lovely and talented Jeska of Lobster & Swan {you need to meet this lady and her blog, if you haven't already}, and I finally hung it above my bed. Lying there, I feel like I'm at a picnic or the circus or some place equally delightful. Jeska gave me so much of it that I have many different hanging options. Who knows where it will move to next?

  1. can i admit something? sometimes i dream about trading my manhattan upper west side closet for your charlottesville cupboard. and now that you've mentioned rain, it's put me over the edge. does uva have a good graduate school for writing?--that way i could get another slightly useless degree, but at least this go round i'd get the real college experience.

  3. Meg: You are so sweet and funny. Yes, actually, UVA has an amazing MFA in creative writing (I'm finishing it up as we speak ... thesis is due MONDAY!). Funny, I was going to suggest it to you a few days ago. It's totally useless professionally, but is the best two years you could ask for. And thanks for the cheers on my redecoration.

  4. You're so imaginative, I love the way you used the scrabble pieces to make your header! And you always have a warm shade on your pictures. They give me the feeling privacy and coziness. It has become a signature ;)
You know, Lobster and Swan was the first blog crush I've ever had. In fact, that is when I started blogging and that is when I've become familiar with some notions that I loved, but didn't know what were called like: vintage and handcraft. The little flags look lovely in your bedroom ;)

  5. Dia: Thank you!! So kind of you to say. And yes, Lobster & Swan was one of my first blog crushes, too. Jeska is a magic-maker, isn't she? Oh, I meant to tell you that I love your new profile picture. You're a masked hero woman!
