Leaves

I know it's officially summer and we're thrilled with it, but I have a confession: I'm more of an autumn gal than anything else and, while I'm delighted by my freckled shoulders, bare feet in grass, and the smell of sunscreen on Mr. Original, I adore the moment when the leaves go amber and pumpkin, and I can resume my quest for the best hot chocolate in town. Here's a little autumn indulgence for those of you who are like me.

Look here, here, here, here, and here.

Fascinated

A coral ostrich feather fascinator? Yes, please! How fun would it be to wear this on your birthday, while you're out on the town with friends or your hunny? So fun. La Meow Vintage puts together the best little photo shoots to display their vintage clothing and accessories.

Pitter-Patter

Another rainy day here in Virginia. I'm not going to lie: I love it. I don't feel as guilty about closing myself inside to read and drink coffee; everything is so green and lush outside my porch door; and if I need to go out, I love to tuck my jeans into my leopard-print galoshes and aim for the puddles. These whimsical umbrellas are from the Umbrella Society, a website you never knew you needed to get lost on.

Spade's an Ace, Once Again

I adore Kate Spade's aesthetic. It's cheery and vibrant and very playful, qualities I'm always trying to incorporate into my style. Here are a few sale items that have me smitten:

Another Helen

I like white, but I love color. Today was 85 and joyous, so I wore a bright sundress with this subtle Helen Kaminski bag. I ate a late brunch with a friend; took a long, slow walk; and am now settling down to do some evening reading. How did you spend your Saturday?

Oh, Polyvore!

48 hours of wonderful weather

Clearly, Polyvore was made for this economy.
I put together these outfits with my ideal 48 hours in mind.
I should confess: Those sunglasses alone are $225.
But, gosh, this was fun!

Toolbox

Ever since my mom gave me a tooled leather wallet years ago, I've had a real soft spot for that craft. The designs are amazing and, often, one of a kind. Here are ten, any of which I'd be happy to own.

Still Shopping + UPDATE!

Alright, I'm going to pull a P. and insist that one of you out there go ahead and buy this:

Please? I just cut a check to the IRS and got a whopping parking ticket yesterday. You owe it to me to buy this gorgeous Italian silk scarf and wear it happily. I want wrapping paper made to look like it. Wouldn't that be dandy?

UPDATE: Someone bought it!! Yippee!! Who are you, cupboard friend?

Surprise Find

It's the border of round, green flowers that did me in. And the shrimp-pink and saffron combination. Plus, it's vintage Valentino, which just seems so cool. {Psst: It was $18 in case you're curious, Mom.}
